FAQ
Can't I just uninstall it to get around a block?
Yes — with enough determination you can always defeat a blocker on your own machine. GrepFocus is a commitment device against impulse, not a warden: system-level blocking and tamper protection add enough friction to outlast the urge, and that's the design.
How many devices?
One license activates up to 3 devices.
Does it phone home?
No. Your key is verified entirely offline with Ed25519 signatures — no account, no network calls, no telemetry. The store only knows what Stripe needs to process your purchase; the app knows none of it.
Is GrepFocus open source?
Not quite — it's source-available. The app's code is public on GitHub under the PolyForm Shield license: you're free to read it, build it, and modify it. What you can't do is distribute a competing product built from it. Premium keys are what fund development.
Which distros?
Linux only. Installers ship today for Fedora/RHEL (RPM) and Debian/Ubuntu (.deb); an AppImage for other distributions is planned.
What happens when my trial ends?
On day 14 the premium features lock again and the free core keeps working. A block that's already running finishes normally.
